Ozito Cordless Lawn Mower Review

Ozito Cordless Lawn Mower Kit – Product Review – This one is for my Dad

I needed to get my dad a good quality, simple to use lawn mower to mow his small back yard and front nature strip. He’s always keeps himself active, but he is getting on a bit. Also he had to have a pace maker put in recently after having having regular chest pains. He doesn’t have too much of a problem with mowing itself, but he does find it very difficult to use the pull-start on his existing mower.

So it was time to look for a solution to make his mowing life a little easier. That solution turned out to be the 18v Ozito Cordless Lawn Mower.

What’s In the Box and Simply Putting it Together

Basically all the bits and pieces you need.

The mower itself comes almost fully assembled. You do need to put on the rear wheels and also the handle.

The grass catcher comes in 3 pieces that simply clip together.

You also get 2 x Fast Battery Chargers and 2 x 18V 4.0Ah Lithium Ion batteries.

Plus a Safety Key, which you can see in one of the images below, that also shows the batteries installed.

Here are a couple of images of the unit put together.

Installing the Batteries and Safety Key

This latest Power Xchange Ozito Cordless Mower uses 2 18v Lithium Ion Batteries. I believe there was an older version version that used to use a 36v Battery, that wasn’t as practical because you needed a dedicated battery for just one tool. With the new 18v Power Xchange batteries you get to use them across the complete Power Xchange range of power tools, not just your lawn mower.

Installing the batteries is as simple as any of the other Ozito tools. The only difference here is that you also need to install the Safety Key (the red thing between the batteries in the image above). Without the key the mower won’t start.

Mower Height Adjustment

The height adjustment lever provides 6 cutting heights from 25mm to 75mm.

40 Litre Grass Catcher

The Ozito Cordless Lawn Mower comes with a 40 Litre Grass catcher

The grass catcher is fitted with an Capacity Indicator flap at the rear of the catcher to help identify when it’s full and needs to be emptied.

Conclusion

It’s been winter so my dad hasn’t used the mower as much as he normally would, but as of writing he has used the lawn mower at least 3 times and come speak highly enough of how well it works.

It has a 360mm cutting width which is plenty for the size of my dad’s yard.

It’s super easy to start, just press the lock-off button and pull and hold the lever handle. Let go of the lever handle to to stop the mower. The lever switch with dual safety mechanism helps to avoid accidental start-ups.

It’s very light to push and easy to use. No fuel and oil to worry about.

The mower itself has a 5 Year Replacement Warranty and the Batteries have 3 Year Replacement Warranty.

Plus the batteries can be used in his new Hedge Trimmer and Blower that he has recently purchased.

If you have a small lawn, and want a simple way of keeping it tidy I highly recommend that you have a look at this unit. Especially if you already have a bunch of other Ozitio Power Xchange Power Tools.

Needed a cordless mower for my Mum for these exact reasons. She borrowed the ozito from a neighbour and was hard going on the buffalo. She also found it hard to adjust the height. I got her the 18v ryobi as she has a whipper and blower already and it’s eats the buffalo and is very easy to adjust the height with a ‘gearstick’ lever for it.
