2016 – Top 5 DIY Projects on the Oz DIY Handyman Site

Here’s a list of the top 5 DIY Projects articles that had the most views and shares for 2017.

1. DIY Picture Frame from Pallet Wood

A simple free-standing picture frame design that has no miters and requires no glass.

I originally wrote this article after a request from the team at Compare the Market, who were after simple DIY project ideas for their blog.

2. How to Make a Coffee Table – Side Table

rustic pallet coffee table

This was a project I designed to solve a problem in a small lounge room that really doesn’t have enough floor space for a full time coffee table. This coffee table servres 2 purposes and is never in the way.

3. How to Make a Cookbook Stand

timber ipad stand

A simple little project that I created simply to find a better use for some timber that I was going to use as firewood. I ended up using this cookbook stand to try out selling timber products online through an Etsy store.

Selling on Etsy has worked out very well!

4. DIY Mitre Saw Stand

I had my Mitre Saw just sitting loosely on a bench. I decided to convert the same bench into something more useful, dedicated mitre saw table with fence.

5. DIY Guinea Pig Cage

This is my original article that I wrote to start off my site back in 2008! And it’s still consistently one of the most popular articles on the Oz DIY Handyman site.
