The guys down at Whitlands Engineering, located in Northeast Victoria, Australia, have custom built an “Angry V8 Chainsaw”.
These guys specialise in manufacturing “Firewood Processors” and “Wood Splitters”, and as it says on their website “We’re serious about YOUR Firewood!”.
I don’t think you can be any more serious about cutting firewood than by creating a beast of a chainsaw that is powered by a 253 CI.Holden 4.1 Litre V8 motor, that is mounted on some sort of custom built trolley to give it some manoeuvrability.
The video shows the performance of the V8 Chainsaw cutting through a 550mm Peppermint Gum Hardwood log in only 2.4 seconds!
V8 Chainsaw Specifications:
- 253 CI.Holden 4.1 Litre V8 motor
- Direct driven through 1:1 Ratio Right-Angle Drive
- 3/4 Pitch Harvester Chain
- 1000mm Harvester Bar
Now that’s a chain saw!! Wouldn’t mind having that in my tool kit of boys toys…
