Ozito DIY Bench Grinder – Very Affordable

Very Affordable Bench Grinder

This isn’t a tool that was on the top of my list to buy, but I have had a pile of blunt chisels and drill bits building up in my workshop that were probably just going to stay there and get replaced one day. Then last weekend I walked past this Ozito Bench Grinder in my local Bunnings store. It was only $35 and also came with a 3 year replacement warranty. I knew that I was never going to use a tool like this very often, and probably only on chisels, drill bits and maybe the lawn mower blades, but at that price it was cheaper than constantly buying new drill bits and chisels.

The unit was easy to set-up. The only bits needing to be attached were the 2 safety eye shields and the 2 adjustable tool rests (shown below). Apart from that it only needed plugging in.

As the image below shows, the Ozito Bench Grinder also has a Dust Sealed switch that should keep it clean and operating as it should.

The unit has rubber feet to reduce vibration and also 4 holes to mount it firmly to your bench.

It comes with the 2 grinding wheels fitted. The wheels are 150mm (6″) in diameter and 16mm (5/8″) thick. One of the grinding wheels is 60 grit and the other is 36 grit.

As soon as I had it together and on the bench, I started it and sharpened one of my chisels. This bench grinder did the job fine. I am normally used to working on a larger wheel and also one that is thicker, but for the amount I plan to use this tool, there are no complaints and I am extremely happy with the quality for the price.
